New health and safety regulations
Your health and safety, and the health and safety of others, is a very important aspect you need to manage in your business, and it's one which is often overlooked, especially when working from home or when using contractors rather than staff.
Some very important new regulations to support the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 come into force on 4 April 2016. If you own or run a business, chances are these new regulations directly affect you.
At Bizbuzz, we're not legal experts, but the team at MinterEllisonRuddWatts have done an excellent job of explaining in general terms what these changes mean for the average small business owner (or director, or "officer"). You will find their freely-available toolkit here.
WorkSafe New Zealand also has an overview of the legislation and some further information here.
Make sure you're up with the play before the new regulations come into effect.
