Hi All.

I was wondering if anyone here uses a blog as part of their business marketing stratery, if so I'd love to here you experience, and of course see the url for it.

I do, I have a blog, that I started as a joke about a year ago, it's mainly about Search Engine Optimisation, and some of the scams I have seen, plus hints and tips of how SEO works, and what you should think about before horing an SEO or doing it yourself.
The url of the blog is
http://canzdesign.blogspot.com/
and I also use it feeds from it on both my websites
http://seobycanz.com/
http://www.canzdesign.com/
See in the left coloumn of each site. I think they are great ways to add fresh new content to a website, (the sites where the feeds are) especially when you don't want to be bothered adding a whole new page, to let your customers know about new or different trends in your business.

I saw an Accommodation website the other day, and sorry I have searched for the url for it and can't find it, but this site had a blog feed like we have, and on the blog, which was a free one from google... like our one, but they had written about all the different tourist attractions, and things of interest to touristm in their area.

Just concentrating on one thing a month, I noticed that the titles that appeared on their website were well worded, and instead of having none searched for terms like, Great place to visit, they had something like, So and So horseriding Adventures, treks over farms or along beaches.

So how about you, do you use a blog to keep your clients/website uptodate?

Cheers Lynny

Re: Does anyone use a blog as part of their business marketing?

HI
I do think that blogs are a good cheap way of getting some information on to the web. I started doing a blog, but to be honest i havent updated it in a while and rely more on my website to get across business information. The way i will use my blog in the future is to talk about myself, so that if people go to my site - www.adconomy.co.nz - and want to know more about the person behind the business then there will be a blog for this.
I think for small businesses where the personality behind the businesses is a main selling point of the services offered, then a blog is a great way to get across to people what you are all about. Just go to google, you can set a site up really easily and for free.
The internet now days is an integral part of any marketing plan so, keep in mind how you can get more information about yourself and your business online. Blogs are a good first step - from a marketing perspective.
That is a good post Lynny - not sure though if we are the only ones reading this forum.
Anyone else out there??
Nicky

Hey Lynny,
Yes you are correct blogging is a very useful way to keep your clients up to date. I find blogs most effective however when they're aimed at potential clients that may be searching for whatever you have to offer, I only recently started my first blog but am beginning to get some great traffic coming though from google. I use mine as a way to show other potential customers what we are doing in our business and keep in touch at the same time with clients aswell. I'd recommend if you really want to get some serious free marketing update your blog everyday.

Also if you want to make a little cash on the side throw in some adsense codes for people to click on...

Basically a Blog works in a similar way to Search Engine Optimization so if your considering starting another make sure your title is one that is a popular word in google because it will multiply the free traffic you'l recieve.
