Be prepared in this book for a whole new perspective on working smarter not harder! Timothy Ferriss in The 4 Hour Work Week takes a knife to the old chestnut “work/life balance” and slices it thin, lean and mean!

Don’t think for a minute that this book is just for the self employed or the high flying entrepreneur. While acknowledging the

realities of being an employee, The 4 Hour Work Week has plenty to offer anyone who has to earn a crust and nor is the message simply one of heresy! The 4 Hour Work Week challenges one to look at accepted modes of activity and ask “is this actually working?” and if the answer is “no” then “hello – try the opposite! … try anything!”

Not for a minute do I believe that Timothy Ferriss is dispensing wisdom from any lofty platform. On the contrary he gives repeated examples of being in just the position he refers to and the bulk of his lessons are very much self learnt which adds creditability to his message and gave this reader confidence that perhaps The 4 Hour Work Week could actually be a happening thing.

While I would not wish to be quite as disconnected as Timothy Ferriss admits to be from key activities in either his business or life generally The 4 Hour Work Week has certainly got me thinking about the “difference between effectiveness and efficiency”, along with how the “80/20 rule” is actually working in all areas of my life.

If you wish 2008 to be the year you really make things happen – without having a stroke – then The 4 Hour Work Week is going to turn all your thinking about work - and play - on its head.
