The Speaker: Ms Katrina Gray – National Operations Manager McDonalds Restaurants (NZ) Ltd

Katrina currently holds the role of National Operations Manager for McDonalds Restaurants (NZ) Ltd which has the responsibilities for leading operations across 163 restaurants, both franchise and McOpCo (McDonald’s owned restaurants).  Additional to this Katrina is responsible for the relationship with 53 franchisees and the franchising needs of the business.

Katrina has a strong Operations and Franchising background, with the last 7 years working for McDonald’s.   The dynamics of successful franchising holds a great interest to Katrina and she has the privilege of working with a brand that has over 50 years of franchising history across most cultures throughout the world.

Prior to McDonald’s Katrina was involved with another restaurant chain and also has spent time as a qualified Chef working in both New Zealand and Australia.  Outside of her professional life Katrina and her partner Nigel have 2 girls, 8 years and an 8 month old, enjoying the great balance it brings to our lives.

Katrina will be bringing you along on the journey of McDonalds NZ as to where they are today and also key leadership strategies they have in place to navigate themselves through what is arguably one of NZ’s most challenging periods for business. They are a business with a strong foundation built up over many years but have the opportunity to explore strategies that keep them green and growing.
