I've been a fan of Windows 7 since it first came out, but this study has made me even more of a fan.
The study shows that Windows 7 saves on average 43 hours a year for each person.
Which doesn’t seem that much at first, but if you think about it that’s an entire work week. (Assuming you only work 40 hours a week )
And that 43 hours is per person, so if you've got a team of people, the advantages really start to add up.
But the time saving isn't the only cool thing. It also costs less in IT support charges too.
You can get a full copy of the IDC report here.
And when you look at the cost of upgrading, it is hard to ignore the benefits. Microsoft has Upgrade licenses, which are cheaper than buying a retail version.
And if you are upgrading from Windows Vista, you don't even have to reinstall you other programs or data. (But I definitely do recommend that you backup your data first just in case something goes wrong).
