Financial Advice from the Frontlines

EmailEmail

From time to time I am reminded why I do the job that I do. To provide financial certainty in times of uncertainty!

Sovereign Assurance have prepared some 'emotionally moving' clips which I recommend you view. These are people who have found out 'first-hand' just how valuable  insurance can be.

One of the common terms repeated in the interviews is,  "I never thought it would happen to me".

Having suffered a heart attack myself and gone through the insurance claims process, I know exactly what they mean.

We all think we will live to a ripe old age and die quietly in our sleep. Unfortunately that is the exception, not the rule! Death rarely comes quickly, especially in terms of an illness which can take months, or even years to "do it's job"!

In the meantime, the financial difficulties you may face because of any illness can be as devastating as those being faced by many Christchurch residents recovering from the earthquake. However you may find very little in the way of government assistance - a sickness benefit pays about $9,000/year.

You can view these clips at https://www.sovereign.co.nz/real-life-insurance/

Have a look, and consider how you and your family (or business) would cope with those sorts of situations, both emotionally, and financially.
